We proudly present our new additions to our range of symbols, ready to be downloaded as mobile phone backgrounds and wallpapers!
The Wicca symbols are some of the most recognizable and broadly known among all occult symbols. Among those featured here is the ancient Greek sign of the goddess Hecate, today a widely used symbol in so-called neo-pagan religions and beliefs; and the closely related symbol of the triple crescent, representing the three phases of the moon and therefore portrayed as a three-part sign, just like Hecate's mark.
The Triquetra, a Celtic symbol adapted into Wicca lore as well as some other religions, is also one of the symbols that represent a trinity, as is the Triskele, also originating from old Celtic tradition and representing reincarnation, afterlife and the Sun. Both the Triskele and the Triquetra are frequently found in Celtic art as well as in other cultures. We also have some of the tools commonly used in Wicca rituals, such as the cup, the cauldron and the Athame (or the knife).
The tradition of Wicca and its related symbols have become widely known in recent years because of exposure in mainstream media. One example is the TV series Charmed, where a Triquetra is used as a protective ward (or so we think) on one of the witches' personal notebook, a Book of Shadows. Then of course there's the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, where our all-time favorite witch Willow often mentions Hecate and other notable elements from Wicca lore.
So where are all the pentagrams, you might ask? They're right here! And, if you look closely, there's one in the background on each of the Wicca images, although they aren't as visible on the previews as on the mobile phone pictures you actually purchase.
